battle of the century

in the past:

the fort canning bunker (now known as the battlebox) was built between 1936 and 1941 during World War II to serve as a command centre for the malaya command

in the present:

transformed into a mixed-used space which calls for a contrasting façade outlook to differentiate the private entrance. both the museum and newly proposed bio-research lab has served the purpose of exhibiting its findings, stories through presenting in the battle box itself.  when in an emergency state, the battle box can fully isolate, and evacuate surrounding, executing intensive laboratory tests; To serve the purpose of contributing aid to help with the demand of containment, assurance and protection.

aging is a process, not a disease.

boomer gastro mart

aging is a process, not a disease.

this project introduces baby boomers to independent living while sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

boomer gastro-mart revolves around a grocery store and an open concept kitchen. in my space, baby boomers can interact and learn from experts and each other how to prepare healthy meals with fresh ingredients.

my focus for this project was combining the mart and pasarbella in grandstand.

my visual explains how this is made possible through extending the levels and by retaining iconic structure at the north wing of grandstand.

jurong community hospital

collaboration with students from visual communication and industrial design, where we work together on this project. LIFE Hub at jurong community hospital has requested us to revamp their space into a more efficient, accessible and elderly-friendly. LIFE Hub features a three-room HDB flat mock-up, which assists patients to ease back into their home environment under the guidance of their therapists. It showcases a variety of products and practical solutions to help the patient live more safely and independently in the home setting.

3 recovery stages that are designed into window displays that showcase LIFE Hub’s pharmacy products.

Life in Recovery (Restore & Regain)

An interactive space for patients to have a hands-on experience with home care and recovery.

Life Before & After Recovery

An interactive space to educate the family member(s)/next-of-kin of patients in need of mobility aids to help the patients gain confidence in walking again.

Life After Recovery

An interactive space for patients to have a hands-on experience with adjustable tables and chairs for resting.
